Christmas Wreaths

I'm writing this in January - not much of a blog! The wreath making workshops went extremely well from my point of view and hopefully all the attendees enjoyed it too. I was more organised this year - having dug the dahlias earlier and I also bought in more foliage and some flowers to have more variety on offer. I bought eucalyptus - both the traditional round leaved cinerea and the more pinnate and longer lasting parvula varieties - eryngium (blue thistle) and gypsofila ( white small flowers). Different groups tended towards different themes. I loved the gypsofila together with the honesty and nigella seedheads that I had grown. I'll try and grow more gypofila this year.

The formula for the workshops worked well - we spent 1.5 -2 hours making wreaths and then mostly came into the house for soup, bread and mince pies or a big pumpkin chilli. All in all I more than covered my costs and made £1,200 for Save the Family.
